Our History

The Gaelic Athletic Association / Cumann Lúthchleas Gael is Ireland's largest sporting organisation and is celebrated as one of the great amateur sporting associations in the world, having a presence on all five continents.

The GAA is a volunteer led, community based organisation that promotes Gaelic games such as Hurling and Football for men, women and children. It is part of the Irish consciousness and plays an influential role in Irish society that extends far beyond the basic aim of promoting Gaelic games.

The Association has its headquarters at Croke Park in Dublin where it has been based on a full time basis since 1908.

The Hong Kong GAA Club was formed in 1995 and provides an opportunity for people in Hong Kong to partake in Gaelic football, Hurling & Camogie.  We also offer many other sporting and non-sporting activities, including golf, dragon boating, fitness sessions, mini-football and various social events.

The club is actively promoting the games at schools level and are seeking ways to incorporate Gaelic Games into the schools PE curriculum.

We are always looking for new members, young or old, guys or girls, of whatever ability. If you're new to Hong Kong or are interested in starting a new sport, please contact us to find out how or when you can come along.
